Hantek presents 1GSa/s PC Based Oscilloscope
03 March 2016 - Qingdao Hantek launched the HANTEK6000BX PC based oscilloscope series. The series features 4 independent analog channels, 1GSa/s real-time sampling rate, 2mV-10V/DIV input sensitivity, and 250MHz bandwidth. The plug and play device is powered by a USB2.0 Interface and offers pass/fail tests, advanced trigger functions, dynamic cursor tracking, waveform record and replay functions.
Keysight announces new Chipsets for Oscilloscopes with Bandwidths above 100 GHz
02 March 2016 – Keysight Technologies announced a technological breakthrough for building the world’s highest-bandwidth oscilloscopes with the successful turn-on of chipsets based on Keysight’s Indium Phosphide (InP) semiconductor technology. The new chipsets will enable Keysight to deliver real-time and equivalent-time oscilloscopes in 2017 that offer bandwidths greater than 100 GHz with significantly better noise floors than what is currently on the market.
Compliance Verification of embedded Multimedia Card Interfaces
01 March 2016 - Embedded multimedia cards (eMMC) are inexpensive internal storage media that are mainly used in mobile electronic devices in the consumer and industrial sectors. With new compliance test software for the R&S RTO oscilloscope family, Rohde & Schwarz now covers automated conformity tests for eMMC interfaces. R&S ScopeSuite, the central application for the control of all compliance tests, also offers new capabilities for integration and regression testing.
Rigol adds Automotive Bus Decoding Options to mid range Scope Series
26 February 2016 - Rigol offers options for CAN, LIN and FlexRay Bus Decoding for its mid range oscilloscope series DS/MSO4000. CAN Bus and LIN Bus are the most implemented bus systems at motor vehicles. While the CAN Bus is used for secure, important functions, the LIN Bus is used at low risk, low security functions as for example integrations within the door or the seat region.
Rohde & Schwarz launches new Oscilloscope with up to 4 GHz Bandwidth
24 February 2016 - Rohde & Schwarz presents the R&S RTO2000, a compact lab oscilloscope for multi-domain applications. The R&S RTO2000 displays the correlations between time, frequency, protocol and logic analysis measurement results. Via the analog input channels, the user simultaneously sees the signal in the time and frequency domain, and if desired, the spectrogram. Newly added functions such as peak list, max. hold detectors and the logarithmic display make frequency analysis even more efficient.
High-speed Digital Analyzer enhances Oscilloscopes with 18 channels @ 12.5-GS/s
01 February 2016 – Teledyne LeCroy introduced the HDA125 High-speed Digital Analyzer for its oscilloscopes. The HDA125 digital acquisition system captures 18 channels of digital data at 12.5 GS/s. Adding it to Teledyne LeCroy oscilloscopes by means of the LBUS interface architecture results in a flexible, high-performance mixed-signal solution. Also announced is the QuickLink probing system, featuring low-cost, high-fidelity probe tips that work with both the HDA125 and Teledyne LeCroy WaveLink probes using the new Dxx30-QL QuickLink adapter.
Crosstalk Analysis with Real-Time Oscilloscopes
28 January 2016 - Keysight Technologies announced the comprehensive N8833A and N8833B crosstalk analysis application to assist in the diagnosis of crosstalk. The application not only detects and quantifies the presence of crosstalk, but it can determine which aggressors are primarily responsible. Furthermore, the application can go one step further by actually removing the crosstalk from the victim waveform so engineers can visually compare the original waveform with the clean waveform side-by-side.

Oscilloscope Probes – Vital Link in the Measurement Chain
Signal measurement results can only be as accurate as the test and measurement tools in use. As clock rates and edge speeds of today’s electronic circuits increase, probing becomes a critical piece of the measurement system – the component that comes in direct contact with your circuit. This article looks at voltage probing considerations for embedded system and digital design debugging applications.

Precision Phase Noise Measurement with an Oscilloscope - Part 1
Often clock jitter induced from the power supply noise, signal routings, or other signals severely degrade the performance of the system. Clock generation and distribution in a FPGA for a high speed analog application is particularly prone to these issues. They manifest themselves in phase noise or clock jitter, which is the random variation of the period of a signal over time. Clearly, optimization of the design requires verification of the integrity of such clocks.
