Oscilloscope KnowledgeBase

This knowledge base contains abstracts of Oscilloscope Application Notes, Whitepapers, Articles, Blog Posts and more provided by different oscilloscope suppliers. Click on a headline in the list below and you get to the full abstract of the document. At the end of the abstract there is a link to the complete document on the website of the corresponding supplier.

You can use either a full text search or a filter function to find the document containing the information you are looking for:

  • Full Text Search: enter the word or character string you are looking for (suggestions will be displayed on typing). This search is performed only in the Oscilloscope KnowledgeBase of Oscopes.info
  • Filter Function: there are 3 dropdown filter functions available. All articles include tags for Application (e.g. Debugging, Bus Analysis, Power,...), Industry (e.g. Automotive, Research, Wireless,...), Author (i.e. oscilloscope supplier) and Type (Text, Youtube Video, Webinar). Best start using only one filter parameter. Keep in mind that "Industry" filter only includes tags if the document is focussing on a certain industry. Please use this filter only if needed!

Remark: Some entries may be marked by "PROMOTED". This is not a recommendation but an advertising option.

Abstract

To minimize capacitive loading on the device under test, most probes use a x10 (also called 10:1) attenuator. This can often be adjusted, or compensated, to improve the frequency response. The following note explains the adjustment technique using two example probes with different adjustment arrangements. The instructions can be applied to any adjustable passive probe, although not all of the adjustments explained here may be required.
