USB Oscilloscopes with flexible Resolution up to 16 Bit
04 June 2018 - Pico Technology introduced the PicoScope 5000D Series FlexRes oscilloscopes and MSOs that feature up to 16 bits of vertical resolution with up to 200 MHz bandwidth and 1 GS/s sampling speed. FlexRes hardware employs multiple high-resolution ADCs at the input channels in different time-interleaved and parallel combinations to optimize either the sampling rate to 1 GS/s at 8 bits, the resolution to 16 bits at 62.5 MS/s, or other combinations in between.
New Oscilloscopes with 12-bit Resolution and 8-GHz Bandwidth
08 May 2018 – Teledyne LeCroy announced the WavePro HD high-definition oscilloscopes, which combine for the first time HD4096 12-bit technology and 8 GHz bandwidth for low noise and pristine signal fidelity. With a maximum of 5 Gpoints of fast, responsive, and easily navigable acquisition memory, also an industry first, WavePro HD oscilloscopes also acquire extremely fine waveform details over long periods of time. A deep, powerful toolset quickly exposes underlying system behaviors.
CAN FD Monitoring Module for Yokogawa ScopeCorder
18 April 2018 - Yokogawa introduced a new CAN FD monitoring module for its ScopeCorder family of portable data-acquisition and recording instruments. The new 720242 plug-in module is compatible with the DL850EV (Vehicle Edition) instrument and the new DL350 ScopeCorder fitted with the /VE option.
Differential Probes for Measurements up to 6000 VRMS
16 April 2018 – Teledyne LeCroy introduced its HVD3000A series of high-voltage differential probes—the 1-kV safety-rated HVD310XA, the 2-kV safety-rated HVD3206A and the 6-kV safety-rated HVD3605A. These new probes serve the complete spectrum of power-electronics applications while providing 1% gain accuracy, a differential-voltage range of up to 1500 V (DC + peak AC), and high offset ranges.
New Firmware adds Frequency Response Analysis to GW Instek MSOs
09 April 2018 - GW Instek launched a new firmware for the MSO-2000EA and MDO-2000E mixed-signal oscilloscopes which adds a frequency response analysis function. The new firmware V1.34. FRA software can be downloaded for free from GW Instek website. After the installment, a standalone instrument, via arbitrary waveform generator, oscilloscope, and FRA software, allows users to obtain DUT’s FRA characteristic curve plot (Bode plot).
5-in-1 Oscilloscopes with large Touchscreen
04 April 2018 - Teledyne LeCroy announced the WaveSurfer 3000z oscilloscopes, which expand the existing WaveSurfer 3000 bandwidth range above and below that of earlier models, while also bolstering functionality for power-electronics testing. In addition, the new models provide more processing power and memory. All WaveSurfer 3000z oscilloscopes feature a large 10.1" capacitive touch screen, a vast set of debug and analysis tools, multi-instrument capabilities, feature/option upgrades, and support for a wider probe range.
Stackable USB Digital Storage Oscilloscope
28 March 2018 - Advantech launched two USB digital storage oscilloscopes with 200 MHz bandwidth and up to 1 GS/s sample rate. The 2 channel instruments feature up to 128 MS/ch waveform memory for high speed data acquisition. A special feature is that up to 6 instruments can be stacked resulting in up to 12 channels.

Digitizer and Oscilloscope - Equal Alternatives?
Can a digitizer be used as an oscilloscope? What is the difference between an oscilloscope and a digitizer? Should I better use a digitizer or an oscilloscope in my next application? These are interesting questions and the best way to start to answer these is the look up the dictionary definition of an oscilloscope: "An electronic instrument used to measure changing electric voltages. It displays the waveforms of electric oscillations on a screen."
