PicoScope enhances Protocol Analysis of its USB Oscilloscopes
29 June 2015 - In response to the proliferation of serial bus communications in electronic designs, the latest version of PicoScope now has decoding and analysis of sixteen protocols included as standard. When used with the deep memory included in most PicoScope oscilloscopes, this new software release creates an extremely powerful debugging and troubleshooting tool at no extra cost to PicoScope owners.
USB Oscilloscopes - Product Overview (High-end)
In addition to our product overview of low-end USB oscilloscopes this overviews looks at products with a minimum bandwidth of 500MHz. Compared to the low-end segment only a few products and manufacturers are left. Some of the listed USB PC scopes offer additional features such as arbitrary waveform generator (AWG), FFT or spectrum analyzer.
PXI/PXIe Oscilloscopes - Product Overview
Oscilloscopes are available in different formfactors also without display. A popular formfactor for multi-instrment systems is PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation). This modular instrumentation platform originally introduced in 1997 by National Instruments and is meanwhile promoted by the PXI Systems Alliance (PXISA). PXIe (PXI Express) increases the available system data rate to now 24 GByte/s in each direction and also allows hybrid slots (PXI and PXI Express modules).
MIPI C-PHY Transmitter Characterization and Debugging Solution
24 June 2015 - Tektronix announced the industry's first commercially available oscilloscope-based solution for MIPI C-PHY physical layer transmitter characterization and debugging. The new solution allows engineers developing next-generation camera technologies using the C-PHY 1.0 interface to conduct in-depth analyses, debugging and characterization of their designs.
Analysis and Characterization Support for HDMI Receiver Testing
12 June 2015 – Tektronix expanded its portfolio of with the addition of advanced analysis and characterization support for HDMI 2.0 receiver testing. The new HDMXpress provides complete support for HDMI test pattern generation, auto-calibration and margin testing, eliminating the needs for manual pattern creation.
CAN FD Triggering and Decode Option for Keysight Oscilloscopes
10 June 2015 – Keysight Technologies introduced ISO CAN FD (controller area network with flexible data rate) decoding and triggering for its InfiniiVision 3000T X-Series oscilloscopes. The new capabilities improve engineers’ efficiency in debugging the ISO 11898-1 standard CAN FD, as well as the original non-ISO CAN FD protocol.
BitScope: Prototyping Board and multi-channel Solution
08 June 2015 - BitScope introduced low cost Micro Snap prototyping boards for BitScope Micro. These little boards are designed to plug into and (optionally) be powered by BitScope Micro. The board can be used to build all sorts of simple circuits for prototyping and educational purposes. BitScope Micro oscilloscope can be used to visualise circuit operation and explain to students how the electronic components work together.

Oscilloscope History and Milestones
Oscilloscopes have been invented in the 1920s. Up to now this instrument encountered many innovations. In the beginning the most important manufacturers have been General Radio, DuMont, General Electric and Radio Corporation of America. Later Cossor and later Solartron dominated the market. Today the main players are Keysight, Tektronix and Teledyne LeCroy. Below we listed some important oscilloscope milestones.
