8-in-1 USB-powered Test Instrument
30 March 2016 - Analog Arts introduces the SF880 PC-based 8-in-1 test instrument. The USB-powered SF880 includes an oscilloscope, a frequency response analyzer, a spectrum analyzer, a data recorder, an AWG function generator, a frequency and phase meter, a logic analyzer, and a pattern generator. This compact device has been developed for professionals with a limited budget. Audio and system engineers , and researchers can also benefit from the many features of the instruments.
Sampling Oscilloscopes for 25/100/400 Gb/s Optical Test
23 March 2016 – Keysight Technologies announced the N1092A, N1092B and N1092D DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes, which are ideal for 25/100/400 Gb/s optical test. Networks of 100 and 400 Gb/s rely on multiple-lane transmitters based on 25 Gb/s class lasers. As these technologies become mainstream and transition to high-volume manufacturing, there is a growing need for test systems that provide high accuracy at a low cost.
Tektronix previews 1 GHz Optically Isolated Measurement System
18 March 2016 – Tektronix announced that it will be previewing its new IsoVu technology at the APEC 2016 show that will offer complete galvanic isolation between a device under test (DUT) and an oscilloscope through the use of electro-optical sensors. It will be the industry’s first measurement solution capable of accurately resolving high bandwidth differential signals in the presence of large common mode voltage. The technology will also offer immunity to external interference and radiated emissions, minimizing the impact of EMI on measurements.
12 GHz Browser Head Combination for Oscilloscope Probes
16 March 2016 – Keysight Technologies introduced the N2839A differential browser head for use with InfiniiMax I/II Series probe amps, bringing the measurement fidelity of a solder-in probe head to hand-held browsing. When used with the InfiniiMax II 1169A probe amplifier, the N2839A gives users 12 GHz of bandwidth, making this a practical hand-held browser solution for measuring high-speed differential or single-ended signals.
Oscilloscope Probes with up to 20 GHz Bandwidth
15 March 2016 – Tektronix introduced the P7700 series of TriMode probes for use with Tektronix performance oscilloscopes. Offering up to 20 GHz bandwidth, the new probes ease the challenges designers face when debugging circuits found in the latest mobile and enterprise designs by minimizing probe loading, improving access to smaller, more-densely packed test locations and lowering overall cost of ownership.
Hybrid Memory Cube Compliance Test
08 March 2016 - Keysight Technologies introduced the industry’s first compliance test software application for hybrid memory cube (HMC) device and system testing. The Keysight N8839A HMC test application helps memory design engineers accelerate turn-on and debug of HMC systems by automating the execution of transmitter physical-layer tests on Keysight Infiniium V-Series and Z-Series oscilloscopes.
Rigol introduces new MSO1000Z Oscilloscope Series
04 March 2016 -The MSO1000Z Series is the new economic level Digital Oscilloscope from Rigol and features powerful trigger functions and broad analysis capabilities. The MSO1000Z 4 channel oscilloscopes come in 70 or 100 MHz versions with a 7 inch display and Rigol's UltraVision technology and a 16 bit digital input port for mixed signal applications. A host of options are available such as analysis, decoding, deep memory, and integrated 2 channel waveform generator.

Digital Debugging - better using a Mixed-Signal-Oscilloscope or a Logic Analyzer?
Today’s technology is fundamentally balanced on an increasingly fine line between the analogue and digital domains; as data speeds increase — both within and between devices — the ‘ideal world’ of fast, clean digital transitions becomes evermore difficult to achieve. This presents new and escalating challenges when verifying faster digital signals that exhibit more and more analogue-like features. As a result it is becoming necessary to remove the hard line between digital and analogue.
